About Us
Our Beginnings
Dragon Pop Social initially started as an online business, run by the original founder, Richard Coots for many years. In August 2025 an enormous move was made to bring the store to life! Our first event was a small stand at a convention on Fort Hood. From there, we moved up into a kiosk at the Main Exchange on post. Finally, the first storefront location is open in the same building as the Warrior Way Gym on Fort Hood!
Who We Are
Dragon Pop Social was initially founded with a specific goal in mind: to make any and everyone feel comfortable and welcome to indulge in their comic and gaming interests together. We wanted to create a space that could host all different kinds of adventurers no matter who they are or where they came from! Where other stores might cater to small, targeted audiences, we truly pride ourselves in being the go-to safe spot. This means maintaining an accessible, clean, and photogenic space, but above all else, a friendly environment.
A Dream Realized
A lot of hard work has been put into building up Dragon Pop Social. This store is Richard's lifelong dream fully realized. Richard, the original founder, has collected comics and games for over 50 years. His daughter, Caley, played a large role in shifting the store from an online venture to a physical brick & mortar store. With ownership shared between the two, the store was able to transform into something greater. Dragon Pop Social could not have become what it is today without support from others. We must thank our dear friends, our family, our repeat visitors, our newcomers, AAFES representatives, and Texas Women's University for all of the assistance provided.
